LOL -- one of the guys on our bike trip down the volcano is from Portland, OR. He was *really* enjoying the "dry" weather. "Dry" being a relative term - the day we arrived, it had finished a pretty good rain day. While we were there, we had some occasional showers, very humid.
A short stop down the volcano - you can see how bundled up we were (it was about 40 deg. F on top - pretty warm actually!). This was about 13 miles down the road..
If you go to Maui, we HIGHLY recommend taking the bike trip down the Haleakala volcano. There's a sunrise version and a mid-day version. The 38 mile downhill trip takes about 0.2 miles of peddling...Lisa tried to make it more - our cruise leader told her she was the 1st person to take a right turn (uphill) vs. left turn downhill at our first stop!
A great trip - and the weather cooperated to the hilt..
You can't see the sunken bathtub, separate shower, and "water" closet in this shot. All tiled/inlaid marble. Fabulous! Another full sized bath upstairs!
Not like the semi-arid land in SoCal..
mom & dad just left here today ... we are having our fourth wettest january, and wettest january since 1980,
Besides it having rained about 41 of the last 44 days ...
A great trip - and the weather cooperated to the hilt..
